It is my very great pleasure to welcome you to the Haitian American Association Against Cancer, Inc.'s (HAAAC) website. HAAAC is an organization dedicated to protecting lives by promoting cancer awareness in the Haitian-American community. Although the work of the Association is already under way for over a thousand days, we are delighted to have this occasion to share our goals with you. As I have come to know the directors and officers of the HAAAC, I have been privileged to be working with such an energetic group of individuals who are committed to bringing about social changes in their community.
These are people who understand the Haitian culture and tradition. In addition to their great professionalism and determination, they possess a unique ability to communicate the importance of early cancer detection and treatment to Haitians who might otherwise hesitate to trust modern medicine.
Our mission is to make sure that not one Haitian dies of cancer because he/she missed the medical attention that could have saved his/her life. We are delighted that you have decided to visit our website to learn more about that mission, and we are grateful to have your support.
As we continue to educate and bring awareness of cancer in the Haitian community, I urge each and every one of you to support our efforts by becoming a member or volunteer of the HAAAC, or a sponsor of one of our upcoming events.
